WebChurch, Scotland's Virtual Church: helping people connect with God.
Having a rough day....?
WebChurch sacred short-cut
Rough days happen to all of us, whatever our persuasion of faith or however long we have been on our spiritual journey.

These are the days when God seems either a million miles away or we appear to have become disconnected from Him, as it were, somewhere along the way.

Be assured that God, who delivers on His promises, has said He will "never leave us or forsake us".

When you get to the end of your rope, tie a knot and hang on.

Franklin D. Roosevelt

Since the Lord is directing our steps, why try to understand everything that happens along the way?

(Prov. 20 v 24)

When one door of happiness closes, another opens; but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one which has opened for us.

( Helen Keller)

Don't be afraid to take a big step. You can't cross a chasm in two small jumps.

(David Lloyd George)

Diamonds are nothing more than chunks of coal that stuck to their jobs.

(Malcolm Forbes)

All God's giants have been weak men who did great things for God because they reckoned on God being with them.

(Hudson Taylor)

Life without passion isn't life

(Spanish proverb)

It is so important for every soul among you who is seeking God to realize that God was first in the field, and was seeking you before you began to search for Him.

(St Bernard of Clairvaux)

Christ....having drawn the sting of all the powers ranged against us, exposed them, shattered them, empty and defeated, in His final glorious triumphant act

(JB Phillips)

Use what talent you possess: the woods would be very silent if no birds sang except those that sang best.

(Henry Van Dyke)

He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.

The reason the Son of Man appeared was to destroy the works of the evil one.

Whoever is born of God overcomes the world: and this is the victory that overcomes the world, our faith.

Submit yourselves to God.   Resist the devil and he will flee from you.

Consider yourselves dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus.

I have given you authority to tread upon serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy; and nothing shall hurt you.

He disarmed the powers and principalities, triumphing over them in the Cross.

The weapons of our warfare are not worldly but are mighty to the pulling down of strongholds.

Put on the whole armour of God that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

They have conquered the devil by the Blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony.

That through death He might destroy him who has the power of death and deliver all those...subject to lifelong bondage.

Your adversary the devil prowls around... resist him, firm in your faith.

If God is for us, who can be against us?

Thanks be to God who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ!

God raised us up with Christ and seated us with Him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus

Therefore God exalted Him to the highest place and gave Him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father.

The Lord will fight for you, you only need be still

Whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed on heaven

Jesus said: "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me... And surely I am with you always.

The Lord is with me: He is my helper.   I will look in triumph on my enemies.   They surrounded me on every side, but in the name of the Lord I cut them off.

Christ Jesus who has destroyed death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel.

No weapon fomed against you will prevail and you will refute every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord and this is their vindication from me, declares the Lord.

He raised up Jesus from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly realms far above all rule and authority, power and dominion and every title that can be given, not only in the present age but also in the age to come.   And God placed all things under His feet and appointed Him to be head over everything for the church, which is His body, the fulness of Him who fills everything in every way.

We are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.

Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us.

His intent was that now, through the church , the manifold wisdom of God should be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms, according to His eternal purpose which He accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord.

    Jesus said: "It is finished."
